Toyota Fortuner continues to let Hyundai SantaFe take the throne in the SUV segment, right behind are still rivals Everest, CX-8 and Outlander.
June continued to witness the return to growth of the entire car market in Vietnam, including the SUV segment.

Hyundai SantaFe ranked first for 2 consecutive months after overtaking the Toyota Fortuner and reached the top 10 best-selling cars in May 2020. Sales of the car model increased by 22% compared to the previous month, reaching 813 cars, only less than the same period last year.
Cumulatively in the first 6 months of the year, Hyundai’s 7-seat SUV/Crossover model sold 3,629 vehicles, down 17% compared to the first half of 2019 when cumulative sales were at 4,384 vehicles.
Currently, Hyundai Santa Fe is on sale with 6 versions and priced at 995 million – 1,245 billion VND.
Although still on the growth path, Toyota Fortuner still sadly finished behind SantaFe for the second month in a row.
In June 2020, Toyota’s 7-seat SUV sold 788 units, up 26% over the previous month and down 6.3% over the same period in 2019. A total of 3,677 Fortuner cars were sold in the first half of 2020.
Currently, Toyota Fortuner is distributed with 6 versions including 4 domestically assembled versions and 2 imported versions with prices ranging from 1,033 to 1,354 billion VND.
Ford Everest is on a strong growth path of 35.4% compared to May 2020.
Last year, Ford Everest had a strong increase thanks to new models and attractive prices.
Everest is distributed in the Vietnamese automobile market using diesel engines with 4 versions priced from 999 to 1,399 million VND.
Mazda CX-8 continuously has discount and promotional programs worth up to hundreds of millions of VND, so the car model has had a strong growth of up to 60% compared to May 2020.
Recently, THACO also had a deep discount program of up to 200 million VND.
Mazda CX-8 has 4 versions with prices ranging from 1,149 – 1,399 billion VND.
Mitsubishi Outlander continues to rank in the top 5 in the SUV segment in June with 285 vehicles sold, 61% higher than the previous month.
Mitsubishi Outlander is currently distributed in Vietnam with 3 versions priced from 823 to 1,040 million VND.
